Our Pledge: Always Delivered Fresh

After our “California Born & Raised” premium pork products are freshly processed and packaged in a USDA facility, they are fully frozen to help lock in flavor and freshness. They are then vacuum sealed in high-quality, airtight vacuum sealed packages that remove oxygen to further ensure product freshness and a long shelf life.

Additionally, we ship our pork in insulated cooler boxes with frozen ice packs to help maintain safe temperatures and ensure product integrity throughout the entire shipping process.

Handling, Storing & Cooking

Not home at when your box is delivered? That's okay - our insulated boxes will stay cool until you get home later that same day. Once you return home to your “California Born & Raised” premium pork at your doorstep, you'll want to open the box and decide what is going to be consumed right away (within 3 to 5 days) and put it in the fridge in a bowl or other leak proof container on the bottom shelf.

What is not going to be consumed within 3 to 5 days can go into the freezer to enjoy at a later date. Prior to cooking, we recommend thawing our products in the refrigerator on a plate or in a bowl on the bottom shelf, preferably not touching any other food, all while maintaining safe temperatures during the entire thawing process. Most cuts will take anywhere from 12 to 24 hours to fully thaw depending on the size of the cut.

If you need a faster thaw, place the pork in a bowl in the sink and fill the bowl with cold tap water. Make sure that your pork is fully submerged and keep the water running at a slight trickle to keep the cold tap water flowing and to prevent it from warming up to room temperature. If you prefer not to keep the cold tap water running over your fully submerged frozen product, just make sure to change out the cold tap water every thirty minutes with new fresh cold tap water until your product is fully thawed.
